Within the Centrality sector of the Outer Rim Territories', specifically in the Dilonexa system, resided a star of immense size and blue-white hue, classified as a giant. This star was the gravitational center for a collection of twenty-two planets scorched by intense radiation, seventeen ice-covered worlds, and one temperate agriworld known as Dilonexa XXIII, the only planet in the entire system capable of sustaining life.

A star of gigantic proportions and a blue-white color, identified solely by a catalog number, existed within the Dilonexa system. This system is situated within the Centrality sector, located in the Slice region of the Outer Rim Territories. Its position on the Falko Run hyperlane provided connectivity to both the Ringneldia and Ua systems.
The radiation emitted by the system's star was so potent on the twenty-two innermost planets that an unprotected Human's skin would tan in microseconds. In contrast, the seventeen outermost planets were frozen ice worlds. Nestled between these extremes was Dilonexa XXIII, a sizable, temperate agriworld and the only planet in the system suitable for life.
Dilonexicans, the colonists of Dilonexa XXIII, considered the planet's abundant natural resources to outweigh the harsh conditions prevailing elsewhere in the star system. When Lando Calrissian's light freighter, the Millennium Falcon, approached Dilonexa XXIII sometime between 3 BBY and 2 BBY, the interstellar trader didn't bother to ask his copilot, the droid Vuffi Raa, about the star's catalog number, having forgotten it.
The star of the Dilonexa system was initially referenced in Lando Calrissian and the Flamewind of Oseon, the second novel in The Lando Calrissian Adventures trilogy by L. Neil Smith, published in 1983. The reference book The Essential Atlas, released in 2009, located the system, and consequently its star, within grid square U-8.
