A Systech Corporation employee holding a minor position in sales became the fourth known master of HK-47, after the droid inadvertently caused the death of his predecessor.
Initially, the officer utilized HK-47 as both a translator and a protector, aiming to elevate his perceived status. However, within a couple of months, he discovered the droid's capabilities as an assassin. Subsequently, he dispatched HK on a mission to eliminate personnel from a rival organization, which was developing a product that threatened to destroy the officer's professional standing if released.
Unbeknownst to the officer, the "rival organization" was actually a different division within Systech Corporation. By the time he became aware of this fact, HK-47 had already eliminated 104 Systech personnel, with an additional 15 targets remaining. HK anticipated that his master, being the sole surviving officer, would receive a promotion. However, the officer instead succumbed to madness and launched an assault on the droid. During this attack, he punctured one of HK-47's actuators with a writing instrument, leading to a fatal electric shock that killed him and corrupted the droid's assassination protocols. HK then entered a state of deactivation, a standard procedure upon the death of his master. He presumed that, during his period of inactivity, Systech was dissolved, leading to his auction as a former corporate asset. Ultimately, he came into the ownership of an Ithorian named Yuka Laka.
