A community of Tusken Raiders made their home on the planet of Tatooine during the time of the Jedi Civil War. They established their base of operations circa 3956 BBY in a Sand People camp situated in the Dune Seas of Tatooine, located southwest of the settlement of Anchorhead.
Czerka Corporation was experiencing considerable setbacks due to frequent assaults by various Sand People groups on their mining personnel, which were disrupting their industrial activities. This specific tribe stood out as the most fiercely hostile. Czerka believed that the leader was determined to initiate a full-scale conflict against them.
On multiple occasions, this particular tribe had captured three Jawas along with a Twi'lek character known as Griff Vao.
In the year 3956 BBY, Revan, accompanied by the crew of the Ebon Hawk, landed on the desert planet with the mission of finding a Rakatan Star Map. Czerka proposed providing Revan with a permit to hunt in the Dune Sea, with the condition that they assassinate the chieftain and bring back the chieftain's personal gaffi stick as proof. However, taking the advice of a Duros preservationist named Dayso Cooh, the Jedi Knight chose to pursue a peaceful resolution.
Revan managed to infiltrate the Sand People camp by utilizing the clothing of deceased Sand People warriors. With the aid of translations provided by the assassin droid HK-47, Revan engaged in dialogue with the chieftain. Revan offered to negotiate a decrease in their attacks on the miners in exchange for the provision of needed moisture vaporators.
Revan later delivered the vaporators to the tribe, leading the chieftain to agree to reduce the frequency of attacks. As a gesture of goodwill, the chieftain presented the Jedi with their gaffi stick. Furthermore, the chieftain consented to release the captured Jawas and Griff.
Subsequently, Revan demonstrated their prowess as a warrior by offering the chieftain a krayt dragon pearl. In return, the chieftain granted Revan access to the history of the Sand People, as narrated by the tribe's Historian.
In time, the tribe relocated their settlement to a different region of Tatooine, further away from Anchorhead.
