Unidentified Twi'lek 1 (Ambush in Cloud City)

A Twi'lek scoundrel of the male persuasion was involved in a planned ambush targeting Lando Calrissian, the Baron Administrator of Cloud City. This event took place in the Bespin settlement during 1 ABY. The Twi'lek, along with other fringers, worked with Bossk, a bounty hunter. Bossk had been employed by Dominic Raynor, the settlement's previous owner, who believed Calrissian had cheated him in a sabacc game where he lost the city. By staging a false emergency, the scoundrels tricked Calrissian into going to a maintenance level. There, the Twi'lek and his accomplices attacked Calrissian, who then escaped through a hangar to avoid the ambush.

Biography

During 1 ABY of the Galactic Civil War, a Twi'lek scoundrel of the male variety operated within the galaxy. In that year, Dominic Raynor, the Baron Administrator of Cloud City, lost his Bespin mining settlement in a gambling match of sabacc against the skilled player Lando Calrissian. Suspecting foul play, Raynor engaged the services of Bossk, a bounty hunter, with the objective of capturing or killing Calrissian, who had become the new Baron Administrator. Aware that Calrissian would have protection, Bossk enlisted the help of several mercenaries and cutthroats, including a Duros, a Quarren assassin, and two Twi'lek scoundrels—this particular individual and a colleague from the same species—to aid in his mission.

The Twi'lek and his fellow conspirators bypassed Cloud City's security measures and devised an ambush with the intention of capturing Calrissian. Bossk, posing as the city's chief engineer, informed Calrissian that a critical repulsorlift pod was on the verge of failure, which would lead to the destruction of the floating city. Consequently, Calrissian, accompanied by his Twi'lek bodyguard and four Bespin Wing Guards as a safety precaution, proceeded to the city's lower levels to inspect the pod.

Bossk instructed his accomplices to take positions, but remain visible to draw Calrissian out. Due to uncertainty regarding which turbolift Calrissian would use, the Twi'lek and the others dispersed into the rooms surrounding the lifts. Once Calrissian's group entered the maintenance level, a blast door suddenly closed behind them, and the improvised bounty hunter team initiated fire on the Baron Administrator's guards. The Twi'lek, wielding a long dagger, engaged in combat, while Calrissian's guards opted to delay their adversaries, allowing the Baron Administrator to escape through a nearby hangar. A quartet of Wing Guards arrived to support the Baron Administrator, thanks to a distress call from a member of Calrissian's party, enabling him to successfully evade the ambush.

Behind the scenes

The Twi'lek scoundrel's figurine

The Twi'lek was featured in Sore Loser's Revenge, a Wizards.com online roleplaying scenario created by Eric Cagle for the Star Wars Miniatures collectible tabletop strategy game in 2004. The game involves one player controlling Calrissian's group, and another player controlling Bossk's group, including the Twi'lek. The Twi'lek is represented by a generic Twi'lek Scoundrel miniature figurine from the Miniatures set Rebel Storm. The character's survival depends on the players' choices. In an alternative ending to the scenario, the Twi'lek's group eliminates Calrissian's escorts and captures the Baron Administrator; however, the short story Lando Calrissian: Idiot's Array has rendered this ending non-canonical by showcasing Calrissian free and unharmed shortly after Bossk's ambush.
