An unnamed story arc, which was to center on a narrative of Luke Skywalker facing off against Emperor Palpatine's Imperial Royal Guard, was conceptualized by author Randy Stradley for publication by Marvel Comics, but it was ultimately never produced.
Randy Stradley, the writer of Star Wars: The New Jedi Order, initially proposed a lengthy story arc to Marvel Comics that would have depicted Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in a confrontation with Emperor Palpatine's Imperial Royal Guard. The intended setting of the story was after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
Nevertheless, this story arc was never released, and the project remained unfulfilled. Despite being thought of as a comic book series by many fans, the story was actually only intended as a single issue by Stradley, and its central concept was intended to form the basis of what eventually became the comic book series Star Wars: Crimson Empire.
