The Ur-Yuuzhan Vong represented a sentient species originating from Yuuzhan'tar located within a distant galaxy, far beyond our own extra-galactic reaches. These beings existed in a symbiotic relationship with both their planet and their entire species. They are considered the progenitors of the Yuuzhan Vong, a transformation they underwent after being severed from the Force.
This designation refers to the original species from which the present-day Yuuzhan Vong descended, beings who were initially and completely linked to the Force. The Ur-Yuuzhan Vong maintained a harmonious, symbiotic existence amongst themselves and as a unified species.
Nevertheless, their severance from the Force occurred when the Ur-Yuuzhan Vong developed excessive pride in their individual achievements, a consequence of their ambition to escalate. This severance led them down a path of violence. Contemporary Yuuzhan Vong religious beliefs attribute this event to their deities, particularly Yun-Yuuzhan, who supposedly sacrificed his physical form to bring the Yuuzhan Vong into existence. Thus, their creation was attributed to divine intervention rather than the Force itself.
Over time, their religious beliefs became so distorted that they came to believe that intensifying their own being, resulting in their dedication to pain, sacrifice, and death, was the sole means of re-establishing contact with their gods. This path further distanced them from any possibility of reconnecting with the Force.
