V'sett-class fighter

The V'sett-class fighter, a heavy starfighter, was employed by the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium during the latter part of the New Jedi Order era.

Characteristics

In contrast to the Swarm-class battle droid, this V'sett-class fighter was piloted by a living Ssi-ruu, who was situated beneath an opaque hull designed to resemble a flattened and curved standard Battle Droid.

To entice the Ssi-ruuk to share their entechment technology three decades prior, Emperor Palpatine provided the V'sett-class fighters with shield generators and sensor arrays at each corner. When operating at full power, their engines emitted a bright violet flash, and their laser blasts shone with a brilliant white light.

Beyond lasers, the V'sett also included a small tractor beam emitter as part of its armament.

History

The V'sett-class fighters were primarily kept within the secure boundaries of the Ssi-ruuk Star Cluster due to the Ssi-ruuk's religious fear of death on an unhallowed world. Consequently, they were not generally deployed beyond Ssi-ruuvi territory. Following the failed Ssi-ruuvi invasion of Bakura in 4 ABY, Chiss Ascendancy and Empire of the Hand starfighter pilots engaged these fighters during incursions into Ssi-ruuvi space. However, Galactic Alliance forces first encountered them during the second Ssi-ruuvi invasion of Bakura in 28 ABY.
