Vaabesh

Being a Force-sensitive Gand, Vaabesh received training in the Force from the Jedi Order during the Separatist Crisis. After being selected as a Padawan, Vaabesh constructed his own lightsaber, which had a green blade, and used it in combat. When the Clone Wars began between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Vaabesh was given the rank of Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic. Vaabesh, along with his master, was sent to the planet of Jabiim to assist other Jedi in a months-long battle against the Jabiimi Nationalists, who were supported by the Confederacy.

During the conflict, Vaabesh's master was killed, and Obi-Wan Kenobi took over command. Kenobi ordered their small group to stay behind the main battle line until the Republic forces could overwhelm the primary weapons emplacement of the Jabiimi Military. Vaabesh, along with other Padawans who had lost their masters, became part of the Padawan Pack. General Kenobi instructed Vaabesh to ambush the retreating soldiers as they fled along the flanks of the main Republic army column. After being separated from the others during the battle, Vaabesh eventually rejoined the other Padawans as they headed for the Grand Army's main outpost.

As the Padawan Pack attempted to reach the main Republic outpost, they encountered Alto Stratus, the leader of the Jabiimi Nationalists, and engaged in combat. Vaabesh fought alongside Aubrie Wyn for four days on the battlefield, but his containment suit was damaged, causing him to slowly succumb to oxygen poisoning. As he lay dying, Wyn requested his lightsaber to defend against Stratus. While Wyn was ultimately killed, she used both her weapon and Vaabesh's to defeat the Jabiimi leader with her final breath.

Following the conclusion of the fighting, Vaabesh's death was commemorated within the wings of a memory moth located in a monument on New Holstice.
