Vamilad, a Force-sensitive individual, received training from the Jedi Order in the art of the Force, ultimately earning the title of Jedi Master. He was an active participant during the Clone Wars, a war fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Vamilad lived through the war's conclusion, an event that also signaled the demise of both the Republic and the Jedi Order.
Following the transformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire, a new governing body established in the Sith-dominated galaxy, Vamilad chose to go into hiding to evade execution. Connecting with fellow Jedi who had survived, including Masters Djinn Altis, Plett, and Iri Camas, Vamilad committed to providing refuge for any Jedi survivors directed to him. Vamilad successfully concealed his location, while allies of the Order, for example Antarian Ranger Jilam Kester, guided other Jedi to safety. Despite his efforts to avoid detection by the Empire, Imperial forces knew that Vamilad was involved in the clandestine resistance, but they were unable to pinpoint his whereabouts.
