A Human male named Vardias Tyne made his home in the town of Anchorhead on the desert planet of Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War. During this time, he found himself in conflict with the Dim-U monks after he killed a bantha that was in the process of destroying his vaporators.
In the year 1.5 ABY, Vardias Tyne was living in Anchorhead, a town located on Tatooine. While he was there, he ended up slaying a bantha because it was wrecking his vaporators. This act angered the Dim-U monks, who worshiped banthas, and they dispatched a female Zabrak bounty hunter by the name of Rhalia Jinsari with the mission to eliminate Vardias Tyne.
Vardias, now in need of assistance, crossed paths with a spacer who was just passing through Anchorhead. After Vardias explained his predicament, the spacer agreed to take on the task of hunting down and killing the bounty hunter, who was nearing the town. Fortunately for Vardias, the spacer was successful in eliminating the bounty hunter.
However, Vardias understood that his problems weren't over yet. He was aware that the Dim-U would simply send another bounty hunter after learning about Jinsari's death. In an attempt to appease the Dim-U, Vardias commissioned a skilled artist to create a bantha statue from a piece of kiliad marble. He entrusted the spacer who had previously helped him with the task of delivering the bantha statue to Brother Chonar, hoping that they would forgive and forget the killing of the bantha. The spacer accepted, and set out to find Chonar, who was located just outside of Anchorhead. Upon receiving the statue, Chonar told the spacer that the statue showed the respect for the majestic banthas. He informed the spacer that the Dim-U would no longer pursue Vardias Tyne. When the spacer relayed this news to Vardias, he expressed his gratitude and gifted the spacer his shellfish harvesting tool which he once used in the rivers of Naboo. He acknowledged that it was not particularly useful on Tatooine, but thought the spacer might find a purpose for it.
Within the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies, Vardias Tyne appeared as a Non-Player Character (NPC). Players who chose to undertake a series of quests for Vardias in Anchorhead were required to track down and eliminate Rhalia Jinsari outside the town, and then deliver a bantha statue to Chonar. Even though players had the option to decline Vardias Tyne's quests, this article proceeds under the assumption of complete game completion.
