The Force-sensitive Human female who was the parent of Varner Hilts (a Sith) was a member of the Lost Tribe of Sith on the planet of Kesh. She married a man from the Hilts family, and they had Varner in 3060 BBY. Before 3000 BBY, her spouse died due to an accident: his weapon slipped out of its sheath and fatally wounded him. A mere week after this incident, the newly widowed woman intended to seduce the very Sith her late husband had planned to assassinate using his shikkar. She hid herself in an urn to get into the Sith's room, but the urn's top remained closed. Without her knowledge, her intended target was away for a month; thus, she perished inside the urn.
Before 3060 BBY, a female Human was born on the planet of Kesh at some point. This woman, who possessed Force-sensitivity, belonged to the Lost Tribe of Sith. The Lost Tribe were descendants of Sith who became stranded on Kesh after their vessel crashed there in 5000 BBY. She married a member of the Hilts family, and in 3060 BBY, they had a son named Varner.
Prior to 3000 BBY, her husband—who had hoped to assassinate the leader of one of the Tribe's factions—died when his weapon fell from its sheath and pierced his ankle. However, his passing did not affect her greatly, as only a week later, she attempted to seduce the leader for her own purposes. Concealing herself inside a large ceremonial urn, she arranged for underlings to deliver her to the Sith's chambers. However, they failed to inform her that the faction leader was away campaigning and would not return for a month. Moreover, the urn's lid would not open, and she died inside, before the age of sixty. The cleaning servants were horrified when they eventually discovered her body.
The mother of Varner Hilts is first mentioned in Secrets, the eighth eBook in the Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith series, which was written by John Jackson Miller and released on March 5, 2012.
