The Vendusii Crystal represented a specific kind of crystal and an amorphous gemstone that originated from the Vendusii system, located within the Mid Rim's Vendusii sector. These crystals were obtainable from mines, with their quality being graded using levels such as Level-001. Sometime after the New Republic's formation in 4 ABY, a particularly skilled—though quite headstrong—Svivreni freelance mineralogist, active for several years afterwards, evaluated a mine owned by the executive named D'gaat. The mineralogist disputed D'gaat's assessment, confidently asserting that the mine would only yield Level-001 Vendusii Crystals.

The initial mention of the Vendusii Crystal occurred within the 1995 sourcebook titled Heroes & Rogues. This book, penned by Rick Stuart and Paul Sudlow, was designed for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. Subsequently, Vendusii Crystals made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before its shutdown on December 15, 2011.
Within the game, Vendusii Crystals functioned as a type of resource that crafters could utilize to manufacture various items. Vendusii Crystals were included among the different kinds of amorphous gemstone that could be acquired by harvesting the ground on the game's planets. The precise type of gemstones gathered through harvesting was randomly determined, and all types of amorphous gemstones were functionally identical and possessed similar attributes. Like other in-game resources, Vendusii Crystals were depicted merely as a standard crate of resources. In reality, crystals and amorphous solids represent separate classifications of solid matter; however, the term "lead crystal" or simply "crystal" is sometimes incorrectly applied to lead glass, which is a form of glass and therefore amorphous, not crystalline.
