Venithon Twins

The Venithon Twins were a pair of Ithorian pirates who were active during the Rebellion era.

History

It is believed that Dorin Venithon and his brother Denuab Venithon were born aboard an Ithorian herdship as it traveled through Corellian space. Somehow, the twins ended up growing up in the slum docks of Corellia, potentially after their herd ship abandoned or lost them.

Given their difficult upbringing, the Venithons developed values that contrasted with the typical Ithorian way of life. Instead of prioritizing peace and life, they valued power and control. They felt no remorse when depriving others of their possessions, dignity, or lives, which led them to become pirates.

They acquired a Ghtroc freighter from an Elomin smuggler who had stolen it, with the original documents conveniently missing. They registered the ship, named the Venithon Bandit, under both of their names. Over the following years, they upgraded it with parts stolen from newer Ghtrocs. Only the original hull remained, but it was the only ship the Venithon Twins ever owned.

Denuab, being the more reasonable and educated of the two, usually piloted the ship. Dorin was responsible for the raiding, directly attacking their victims.

The Venithons were members of various pirate organizations, including the Kliap Pirates, the Bandits of Ggy-ynt, the Yarnak Gang, and the Fivaran Organization.

While working for the Fivaran Organization, they collaborated with 46 other pirates to hijack the Hauler VI, a Censian-class transport. The Venithons discovered that the Hauler's cargo consisted of 400 SpecForce Marines from the Rebel Alliance army. The Venithons chose to abandon their colleagues, leaving them to face capture or death.

Eventually, they joined the Hy'thor pirate group, which operated in the Mieru'kar sector under the leadership of Ompiach. The Venithons served on the leadership council, which reported to Ompiach. However, the Venithons wielded significant unofficial influence over the individual council members.

On 2 ABY, Ompiach dispatched the Venithons as envoys to negotiate a treaty between his group and a rival pirate group led by Safonne Pendon. Despite preferring to raid ships, they accepted the assignment. The meeting unfortunately devolved into a battle. During the conflict, a Rebel freighter carrying valuable cargo was damaged by the crossfire. The freighter crash-landed on a nearby planet, and the Venithons and their associates pursued it to loot its contents, hoping to prove their worth.

Five years later, the Venithon Twins had switched allegiances and were now part of Pendon's pirate gang.
