The Venture functioned as an Endurance-class fleet carrier within the New Republic Defense Fleet.
Having been brought into service a short time before 16 ABY, the Venture became part of the initial New Republic Fifth Fleet, serving as the flagship for Task Force Blackvine under the leadership of Commodore Tolsk and Captain Logirth. During the Battle of Doornik-319, it sustained damage to three hangar bays on its port side and lost fourteen starfighters. Subsequently, the Venture took part in the Battle of N'zoth.
Bravo Flight pilots were based on the Venture.
