Bravo Flight, also known as Ferry Flight, was a squadron composed of at least nine T-65BR X-wing reconnaissance starfighters. This squadron belonged to the New Republic Fifth Battle Group.
Their mission was to provide escort for the fleet shuttle Tampion. On board was Commodore Han Solo, who was en route to the New Republic Fifth Fleet to assume command of the fleet for upcoming engagements against the Yevetha. During the event known as the Capture of the Tampion, the Tampion and its Recon-X escort were forced out of hyperspace 91 light-years away from the Koornacht Cluster. This was orchestrated by the Yevethan interdiction Dreadnaught, the Glory of Yevetha, acting on information leaked by a traitorous senator within the highest levels of the New Republic.
Ion cannons were used to attack and disable all nine starships. The Recon-Xs of Bravo Flight were left helpless as the Yevetha seized control of the Tampion and took Han Solo as a hostage, before jumping to hyperspace towards the Koornacht Cluster.
Later on, the Endurance-class fleet carrier Venture, which served as the flagship for Task Force Blackvine of the New Republic Fifth Fleet, arrived to recover the Recon-Xs of Bravo Flight. The pilots were instructed to power down all systems, and the ships were brought into the carrier's flight bays utilizing a tractor beam. There, the ships underwent a suspicious search. Subsequently, the pilots were debriefed by New Republic Intelligence in a futile attempt to uncover the identity of the traitor who had betrayed Han Solo to the Yevetha. After being cleared of any involvement by Intelligence, the Bravo Flight pilots were transferred to the Endurance-class fleet carrier Intrepid, the flagship of the New Republic Fifth Fleet. Half of them were then assigned to return to Coruscant, but none were given active combat assignments. However, one of Bravo Flight's pilots, Plat Mallar, managed to avoid the transfer to Coruscant by speaking with Colonel Bowman Gavin, the Fifth Fleet's fighter commander, and instead served as a shuttle pilot with the Fifth Fleet during combat operations.
