Verks served as a male officer for the Rebel Alliance throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.
Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, Colonel Verks established his base on Yavin 4. During this period, Tellulon, a Rebel spy who had infiltrated the Yavin Imperial Fortress, operated under his direct command.
In the year 1 ABY, during the Empire Day celebrations, Colonel Verks was stationed at the Yavin Mining Outpost. It was at this location that he encountered a group of Rebel spacers dispatched by Tellulon to meet with him. These spacers were returning from the Imperial Fortress, where one of them had successfully convinced an Imperial Technician named Arlo to defect and join the Alliance. Verks, greatly impressed by the Rebel's ability to persuade Arlo to join the Rebellion, offered his commendation.

Verks made an appearance as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was later shut down on December 15, 2011. Verks was integrated into the game with the release of "Publish 19," which occurred on June 29, 2005. During the live Empire Day event that took place from June 29 to July 11, 2005, he was situated in the Yavin IV Mining Outpost. He was a key component of a quest called "Empire Day Revealed," which tasked players with a significant mission across the galaxy. Following the conclusion of the live event, Verks did not reappear in the game, as the Empire Day event was discontinued until its major overhaul in 2008.
Because Verks was generated using the standard "rebel_colonel" template, which employed six different Interchange File Formats, his appearance was randomly selected from six possible depictions and would change after each server reset. Despite this, the quest journal consistently identified Verks as male.
