The Vippits were a type of cephalopod originating from Alee, which itself was an agricultural world situated within Hutt Space.
These creatures, the Vippits, possessed a singular, sizable foot equipped with numerous toes; their method of "walking" often resulted in a trail of yellow mucus being left behind. A sizable, flattened turquoise shell, adorned with rings and deposits, served as protection for their moist and fleshy body, as well as the underlying skin folds. Their two eye stalks operated separately, possessing the ability to both read and assimilate information, as well as other forms of visual input. The integration of this information, however, was contingent upon the Vippit entering a state of sleep, which then allowed their mind to consolidate the mental resources from both hemispheres of their brain.
Vippits would embellish their shells using viptiels. It is known that at least some members of this species held the Broodmaster in worship.
During the period known as the Cold War, the Vippits found themselves under the control of the Hutt Cartel and were compelled to provide tribute. The Hutts, when they deemed the Vippits to be excessively frugal, would engage the services of an individual to forcibly extract what the Vippits were unwilling to relinquish voluntarily.
In the time preceding the Clone Wars, lawyers of the Vippit species were employed by the Christophsians to initiate legal action against any entities attempting to duplicate their techniques for mining asteroids, or those seeking to establish agreements with their trade partners.
A particularly noteworthy member of this species was Doolb Snoil, who distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished legal professionals within the Galactic Republic.
