Alee, primarily an agricultural world, existed within the Alee system. This system was part of Hutt Space, specifically within the Slice. Its location on the Ilosian Spur hyperlane provided connectivity to both the Tal Nami system and the Boz Pity system situated in the Mid Rim.
The sentient Vippit species originated on Alee, their homeworld. As early as 15,000 BBY, Vippits were already serving the Hutt species. The planet also hosted a significant population of Ilosians, people native to the nearby world Ilos, who were largely employed as agricultural laborers and farmhands. Alee engaged in substantial trade with various star systems of the Mid Rim.
Sometime between 25 ABY and 26 ABY, the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong launched an attack on the Alee system as part of their conquest of the galaxy. The star system remained under the invaders' control until at least 27 ABY.
The first mention of Alee appeared in The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009 written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. The book identified its location as grid square R-9.
