Virgillia 7, a planet situated in the Virgillia system, existed within the Outer Rim Territories.
The Galactic Empire viewed it as a small, isolated colony world. From the start of the Virgillian Civil War in 25 BBY, it served as a center of resistance for the Virgillian Free Alignment against the Imperial-supporting Aristocracy. Throughout the time of the Empire, the resistance fighters were under the leadership of Tessa Manchisco's parents, until Imperial troops attacked the Manchisco residence, executed them immediately, and caused Tessa to run away and seek refuge in the residences of fellow resistance members.
In the year 23 BBY, a diplomatic party of Jedi was dispatched with the intention of negotiating peace to bring the civil war to a close; however, upon their arrival, their vessel suffered an assault, and all four Jedi were presumed dead. It was the location of a particular mission early in the Clone Wars.
