During the era of the Galactic Civil War, Voktunma was a planet that aligned itself with the Imperial forces. Bregius Golthan, an Imperial Advisor, held control over the planet. Voktunma was home to a bustling starport of Imperial class. The planet's surface presented a diverse landscape, featuring several mountain ranges, thick forests, and cultivated plains. Among the local wildlife, a lizard-like avian species built nests in the mountainous areas.
Golthan's personal fortress was situated in the foothills to the west of the starport. The fortress was made up of tall towers and spires. It was protected by a defensive network that included multiple turbolaser towers strategically positioned within the surrounding forests. Furthermore, Golthan maintained a defensive presence in orbit, with three Star Destroyers and numerous other military vessels.
In the year 4 ABY, the smuggler Platt Okeefe was imprisoned by Golthan within his fortress. Okeefe, a member of the mercenary group known as the Black Curs, had been captured by Golthan in a trap set on Canyon, which was originally intended for Luke Skywalker. Despite this, Golthan proceeded to starve and interrogate Okeefe. The Black Curs then initiated a ground-based rescue operation, successfully infiltrating the fortress. They managed to free Okeefe and inflicted significant damage on the fortress before making their escape aboard the Luudrian Star.
