Vorin, a Human male, was a member of the Jedi Order during the time of the Great Galactic War, a conflict that pitted the Galactic Republic against the reconstituted Sith Empire. In his twenties, this Jedi defended Alderaan when the Empire launched a significant assault against this Republic Core World. Despite the initial success of the Imperial forces, led by the Sith Lord Darth Malgus, they were eventually pushed back, forcing the Sith to retreat. As the surviving invaders escaped the planet, Vorin and his Zabrak Jedi comrade examined the devastation of an Alderaanian town that had been destroyed. Malgus, severely injured during a Republic counterattack, was retreating overhead when he felt the presence of Jedi below. The Sith Lord descended to the ruined town and found the Zabrak Jedi, whom he engaged in lightsaber combat. Vorin, concealing himself to find a chance to strike, was sensed by Darth Malgus through the Force. After kicking the Zabrak, using the Force to enhance the blow, Malgus used the Force to pull Vorin from his hiding place and crush his throat. The Jedi attempted to retaliate, but could only swing his green lightsaber uselessly before Malgus killed him.
