Vorlocca

Vorlocca, a Wookiee of the male persuasion, was a Jedi Knight. Stationed on the planet Almas during the Clone Wars, Vorlocca's duty was to assist in defending the Almas Sith fortress. Around 20 BBY, Vorlocca, along with five other Jedi, faced an attack from the enslaver Phylus Mon, the Dark Jedi Karae Nalvas, and Mon's various underlings. These antagonists sought to infiltrate the fortress to uncover the secrets behind the creation of Sith battlelords. During this conflict, Vorlocca met their death. Subsequently, the attackers dragged the Wookiee's remains into the fortress, where they were fed to three gundarks. Later, a search team arrived at the fortress, seeking any surviving Jedi from the assault, and discovered Vorlocca's remains.

Biography

During the Clone Wars, Vorlocca, a male Wookiee, held the rank of Jedi Knight within the Jedi Order. At one point, they joined a Jedi contingent garrisoned on the planet Almas just outside the Almas Sith fortress. Their mission was to prevent the Believers, a Sith cult operating within the Cularin system, from gaining access to the fortress, a former base of operations for the Believers. While most Jedi guardians were positioned to the north, Vorlocca was among the six tasked with safeguarding the south entrance.

Vorlocca was killed on Almas alongside several other Jedi guards.

Around 20 BBY, amidst a sandstorm, the Chevin enslaver Phylus Mon, the Dark Jedi Karae Nalvas, accompanied by several of Mon's minions, approached the south entrance with the intention of entering the fortress. Their goal was to uncover the secrets concerning the creation of ancient Sith warriors known as Sith battlelords. Mon's forces launched an attack against Vorlocca and the other five Jedi guards. During the resulting battle, Vorlocca, along with the Jedi Tresten Agai'i, K'kur, and Milak Sonloam, were killed. The remaining two Jedi defenders were captured, which allowed Mon and Nalvas to enter the fortress. The attackers then dragged Vorlocca's lifeless body into the structure, leaving it in an enslavement pen located in the fortress's lower levels as food to be eaten by three gundarks that Mon had brought along.

Following the attack, the Jedi discovered the deceased bodies of Agaai'i, K'kur, and Sonloam. Search parties were dispatched into the fortress to locate Vorlocca and the two captured Jedi. After two hours since Vorlocca's demise, one search team reached the lower levels of the fortress. There, they found the Wookiee's corpse and witnessed one of the gundarks tearing apart the Wookiee's body and consuming it.

Powers and abilities

Vorlocca possessed exceptional skills as a Jedi Knight, potentially reaching the level of Jedi Master if they had desired. Their exceptional abilities led to their assignment to guard the south entrance of the Sith fortress, as the Jedi had less knowledge about that entrance compared to others. Vorlocca's physical strength surpassed that of their fellow guards Tresten Agai'i, K'kur, and Milak Sonloam.

Behind the scenes

Morrie Mullins created Vorlocca, who appeared in the 2004 roleplaying adventure A Mon Alone, a supplement for the Living Force campaign. In this adventure, player characters roleplay as the search party that discovers Vorlocca's corpse. They encounter individuals within the Sith fortress whose Force essences have been separated from their bodies due to Phylus Mon's attempts to perform a ritual related to the creation of Sith battlelords. Players can inquire with the Force ghost [Darsin] if Vorlocca's body suffered the same fate, to which Darsin replies that it is unlikely. The player characters also have the option to take Vorlocca's body with them upon leaving the fortress. If chosen, the cadaver is loaded onto a shuttle along with the player characters and transported to the Almas Academy, a Jedi academy situated on Almas.
