Vua'sa

A vua'sa claw was surgically attached to replace the missing foot of Warmaster Tsavong Lah

Originating from Yuuzhan'tar, the vua'sa were exceptionally dangerous predators. Their rapid breeding combined with their habit of devastating their environments made them a rare sight. Legends tell that the first warmaster, crafted by Yun-Yuuzhan, was not a Yuuzhan Vong at all, but rather a weapons beast given the name Vua'sa. A Yuuzhan Vong warrior rose to challenge this monstrous creature, killing it and taking its position as warmaster. In remembrance of that first warmaster, Vua became a frequently used name within the warrior caste.

Although the vua'sa had been extinct since the destruction of the Yuuzhan Vong's original homeworld, the shapers preserved its genetic blueprint within the great qahsa at the outset of the Yuuzhan Vong War. After losing his foot during a battle on Duro against Jedi Knight Jacen Solo, Warmaster Tsavong Lah commanded the shapers to bring a vua'sa into being. As a tribute to his title of warmaster, Tsavong Lah faced the vua'sa in a one-on-one fight, emerging victorious. The shapers then used its remains to create a foot equipped with four incredibly sharp, obsidian-like talons. These four armored claws served as a powerful symbol of the warmaster's might.
