Warmaster Tsavong Lah had a vua'sa claw attached to his body in place of his foot.
Originating from Yuuzhan'tar, the vua'sa were perilous predators. Their rapid breeding and habit of devastating their environments made them rare. Legends tell of the first warmaster, created by Yun-Yuuzhan, being a weapons beast named Vua'sa, not a Yuuzhan Vong. A Yuuzhan Vong warrior is said to have fought and killed this creature, taking its place as warmaster. In honor of this first warmaster, Vua became a common name among the warrior caste.
Although the vua'sa had died out following the destruction of the Yuuzhan Vong's original homeworld, their genetic information remained within the vast qahsa of the shapers as the Yuuzhan Vong War began. After Jedi Knight Jacen Solo severed Warmaster Tsavong Lah's foot during a battle on Duro, he commanded the shapers to cultivate a vua'sa. To honor the warmaster title, Tsavong Lah battled the vua'sa alone and won. The shapers then used its body to create a foot with four razor-sharp, obsidian talons. These four armored talons served as a striking representation of the warmaster's might.
