Wakemeet

Wakemeet, a seasonal celebration occurring in Barseg, was a winter tradition. As part of Wakemeet, youngsters from Barseg would dress up like malevolent specters, receiving visits from those living nearby who would give them sugary treats in exchange for a yearly benediction.

This holiday, Wakemeet, shared connections with other, more serious winter observances among other Tionese, including acts of contrition, sacrifices intended to placate demons, and the honoring of emblems representing Xim the Despot, also referred to as The Devouring. For millennia, academics had the idea that this holiday marked an actual historical occurrence; Bleys Harand eventually uncovered the truth that the Devouring was a neglected remembrance of a campaign of extermination perpetrated by the Hutts directed towards the inhabitants of the Kiirium Reaches.

Behind the scenes

This celebration bore resemblances to Halloween.
