Wanderer Scout Surveyor

The Wanderer Scout Surveyor, a survey droid model, was produced by the SoroSuub Corporation. Frequently, these droids were used in conjunction with 87-RM Scout Collectors for the purpose of catching and analyzing various creatures.

Characteristics

The Wanderer's design was arachnoid in nature, featuring a circular body supported by eight articulated legs that gave the droid movement capabilities. Its body measured one meter across, and it stood at a height of two meters. This droid was known for its speed and agility.

Positioned on the upper part of its body was a single photoreceptor eye capable of a full three-hundred and sixty degree rotation. Sensor equipment was installed on the lower side of its body.

For specimen immobilization, the Wanderer had a stun blaster. This blaster was attached to the same structure as the photoreceptor, enabling the droid to target whatever it could visually acquire. Located beneath the main sensor array were three fine manipulators with grasping claws and surgical instruments for on-site specimen dissection.

A personality matrix was not included in the Wanderer's design, which led to dissatisfaction among many owners due to the absence of a distinct personality. Because the droid's extensive scouting and medical functions were prioritized, Wanderer owners who wanted to reprogram the droid's personality had to remove those subroutines. Otherwise, the Wanderer would disregard the new personality matrix and continue operating as originally programmed.

Wanderers could comprehend both Basic and Binary, but were only capable of communicating in the latter.

Role

A Wanderer Scout Surveyor droid

The Wanderer Scout Survey Droid was intended for scouting missions and was frequently sold alongside the 87-RM Scout Collector for the purpose of capturing and immobilizing living specimens for research.

Wanderers typically operated in groups, using hypersonic frequencies to communicate among themselves. In coordinated operations, one droid would force a target out of hiding, allowing another to stun it.

History

The SoroSuub Corporation was the manufacturer of the Wanderer Scout Surveyor. Its design originated from schematics developed by a long-extinct alien civilization. It was frequently offered as a package deal with the 87-RM Scout Collector in sales publications.

During the Galactic Civil War, sixteen units patrolled the jungles of Orellon II. The local Kentra people mistook them for demons, and when a group of Rebels landed on Orellon II, the Kentra King Jerius tasked them with eliminating the perceived demonic presence.
