Waric Nane

Minister Waric Nane was a Human male, a native to the planet Danoor. He was among the quartet of governmental ministers who governed the world, each entrusted with the welfare of half a million inhabitants.

Biography

Political career

Waric Nane was a proponent of a powerful military and a strong police force, along with the imposition of curfews and stringent control over everything within the boundaries of Danoor. His governmental blueprint was seen by many as leaning towards totalitarianism, but he successfully persuaded Ministers Opodim and Durhant to endorse his proposals. Only Minister Mooren declined to offer his support.

Following multiple death threats from rebel factions, Nane procured assassin droids from the clandestine market to serve as his personal security detail.

Dealing with the Empire

In 8 ABY, Nane, along with his fellow Ministers, was deceived by the scheme orchestrated by Captain Rolf Treidum. Nevertheless, a few hours later, Treidum gained entry to Nane's personal study after circumventing the Minister's elaborate security system. Treidum disclosed his real identity to Nane, as well as the advantages of aligning with the Empire. Nane came to the conclusion that his governmental philosophy aligned perfectly with the Empire's ideals and pledged to give it careful consideration. Treidum presented Nane with an unusual trapezoid-shaped device that could be used to summon the Empire in the event of an emergency. Treidum only requested one thing in return—if the FarStar were to arrive at the planet, then Nane was to signal them immediately and delay them until Imperial forces arrived.

Arrival of the FarStar

Upon the FarStar's arrival a week later, Nane dispatched the signal and then arranged for the crew to retrieve a mining drone from the Duhrib Belt in an attempt to stall them. However, the FarStar made its way back to the planet before the Empire's arrival. Nane embraced Minister Mooren's idea to direct them to Makezh since they needed a navigator and furnished them with military identification to navigate the streets of the capital, Eror Zeen.

Personality and traits

Nane had a characteristic habit of clasping his hands together in front of him, constantly shifting the position of his fingers.
