For defensive enhancements, dovin basals were surgically integrated into these organisms. Their intended function was to serve as a guardian and shield for a thrall herder. Warriors in control of the warkeeper were obligated to prevent thralls from straying too close to the gravitational influence of the dovin basal, thus avoiding their destruction.
