The Wayfar spies were a group of espionage agents operating in close proximity to the Tatooine town of Wayfar during the era of the Galactic Civil War. In the year 1 ABY, Bib Fortuna, who served as the majordomo for Jabba the Hutt, enlisted the Wayfar spies to surveil Romo Vax. Fortuna suspected that Vax was planning to betray Jabba's organization. However, Romo Vax successfully manipulated one of Bib Fortuna's subordinates into assassinating Dewall Paez along with several other Wayfar spies.
The explosive briefcase was a known tool utilized by the Wayfar spies.
The Wayfar spies made their debut in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game ultimately shut down on December 15, 2011. The Wayfar spies were incorporated into the game as part of the updated "Jabba's Theme Park," which was released with "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
