The Werania system existed inside the Biivren sector, which itself was situated in the Slice area of the Expansion Region. The system served as the place where Weranian holocards originated.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace along with Jason Fry, initially mentioned the Werania system in 2009, identifying its location as grid square P-9.
