Widget was the droid assistant of Mora on the planet of M'haeli in 0 ABY; he was a droid that belonged to her.
Possessing a mostly yellow and brown body, along with a red scarf worn around its neck, Widget was a diminutive, two-legged droid. After numerous failed attempts to start its cognitive processor, the droid was finally activated during Mora's early teenage years. Widget aided Mora in her repair work, and his frequent system malfunctions inadvertently improved her skills, as she was constantly required to fix him.
Its design incorporated short legs and a broad, substantial base, which resulted in a swaying, spread-legged walk and a low center of gravity. A flexible waist supported an armored torso that featured an inset button panel. This panel was utilized for command input and running diagnostics when the droid was either offline or inactive.
Each of the droid's arms contained a multitude of small machinist's tools that could be extended through the digits and palms of its square, blunt-fingered hands. The right forearm included a magnifier, a spotlight luma, and an assortment of wire cutters. The left arm was encased in ribbed sheathing and equipped with a laser welder, gripper clamps, and a computer access link.
Following the battle that occurred at Yavin, Princess Leia journeyed to M'haeli to offer her backing to the local insurgency as they fought against Governor Grigor. Widget demonstrated his value by assisting the team in rescuing prisoners from Grigor's mines and recovering coded data pertaining to the corrupt governor's illicit operations. He provided assistance to Mora in her repair business and accompanied her when she ventured offworld with Ranulf Trommer and Ch'no to enlist in the broader Rebellion.
