William Corey Dietz, known by the nickname Bill Dietz, is a science fiction writer. He is the author of the Dark Forces trilogy, which includes Dark Forces: Soldier for the Empire, Dark Forces: Rebel Agent, and Dark Forces: Jedi Knight. These novellas were inspired by the computer games Star Wars: Dark Forces and Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. He was also scheduled to pen Escape from Dagu, but the book's publication was halted.
Growing up near Seattle, William C. Dietz served as a corpsman with both the Navy and Marine Corps. He earned a degree from the University of Washington. He worked as a surgical technician, a college instructor, and a news writer. Subsequently, he held various marketing communications and public relations roles at US West. He then departed to take on the role of Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the global telephone business edge2net. Dietz has dedicated himself to writing full-time since 2002. Among Dietz's creations is the novelization of the critically acclaimed computer and video game Halo. This book, titled The Flood, was published in 2003. Furthermore, he is the author of Mass Effect: Deception, which saw release in 2012.
