Kyle Katarn, a secret Rebel Agent, is prepared to take any action to avenge his father's premature demise at the hands of the Empire. When 8t88 threatens Kyle in a Nar Shaddaa establishment, he pursues the droid, ultimately securing a cryptic disk. This disk holds the potential to reveal the reasons behind his father's murder. Kyle soon discovers the disk contains information pertaining to a map leading to the Valley of the Jedi, a location his father had secretly discovered. An intense race ensues between Kyle and the Empire to determine who will be the first to acquire the map and reach the Valley.
Based upon the widely recognized Star Wars: DARK FORCES and Star Wars: JEDI KNIGHT interactive games, Rebel Agent constitutes the second part of a trilogy authored by the acclaimed William C. Dietz (The Final Battle). The trilogy features illustrations by the award-winning artist Ezra Tucker (known for the Adventures of Little Nettie Windship children's book series).
Following Morgan Katarn's discovery of the Valley of the Jedi, he shares its description with a Jedi named Rahn, who subsequently falls into the clutches of Jerec, the Dark Jedi. Jerec extracts information from Rahn's mind, leading him back to the Katarn farm. Simultaneously, the droid 8t88 approaches Kyle with an offer related to a mysterious disk, triggering a pursuit. Kyle obtains the disk, uncovering his father's discovery; however, he arrives too late to secure the map. Or does he? The answer can be found with 8t88.
This entirely new adventure trilogy enriches the background and integrates elements from the LucasArts DARK FORCES and JEDI KNIGHT interactive games. Rebel Agent builds upon Soldier for the Empire and sets the stage for Jedi Knight.
As the sequel to Dark Forces—Soldier for the Empire, this second installment of the graphic-story-album trilogy recounts Kyle Katarn's adventures as he uncovers the enigmatic Valley of the Jedi, which his father had discovered years prior. Within the Valley lies a vast reservoir of energy, awaiting release. The question is: who will be the first to reach the Valley and harness its power—Kyle or the Dark Jedi known as Jerec? This tale is written by William C. Dietz and features 25 painted illustrations by the artist Ezra Tucker.
