Little creatures known as Wodanian wood-sprites were familiar to Amaiza Foxtrain. She asserted that Merri Shen Doshun's size barely exceeded that of these sprites. Originating from Wodan, a planet nestled in the Rifle Worlds of the Hapes Cluster, they called that place home.
Roy Thomas brought Wodanian wood-sprites into existence, and their presence was noted in the dialogue of Star Wars (1977) 9, which saw publication in 1978. Later, in 2009, The Essential Atlas took inspiration from this name and developed a planet around it.
