Wyle Artis, a Sullustan male, was an unaccomplished hunter who made his home during the era of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he could be found on Tansarii Point Station, a space station orbiting Ord Mantell within the Bright Jewel system. In the year 1 ABY, he engaged the services of a spacer, tasking them with the hunting of flits along with scyks inside Tansarii Point Station's atrium. While Artis possessed a great enthusiasm for hunting, his actual skill was lacking. His clumsiness was a significant factor in his decision to hire someone else to deal with the creatures. Regardless, he boasted of past hunts, claiming kills of both a Corellian sand panther and even a krayt dragon. Subsequently, Wyle Artis fashioned a necklace for his wife using the feathers of the flits and the teeth of the scyks. As compensation, he gifted the spacer a hunting necklace in addition to a modest sum of credits.
Wyle Artis existed as a non-player character within Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game from 2003. The video game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and brought to players by LucasArts, before its servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. Artis's inclusion in the game was part of the "New Player Tutorial," which was implemented with the launch of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005. He provided the player with a single, optional side quest.
