X7-Cratus

X7-Cratus, a clandestine space station, functioned as a laboratory following the war against Zakuul. After the demise of the Eternal Empire's Empress Vaylin and the subsequent establishment of the Eternal Alliance in 3631 BBY, Doctor Alirra Semhess spearheaded a renegade group of Republic scientists in a covert project at X7-Cratus. They fraudulently secured funding from a Republic fund intended for disease research and treatment development, but the group instead dedicated themselves to creating experimental adrenals. Rahser Poth, also a Doctor, obtained encrypted messages from an unidentified scientist, enabling him to formulate RAK-5 serum, which was subsequently refined into RS-33. While the adrenal significantly augmented a subject's strength and agility, it did so at the expense of their mental capabilities; both RAK-5 and RS-33 were ultimately derived from the rakghoul plague, rendering them highly unstable. Eventually, Eternal Alliance operatives under the command of Theron Shan uncovered Semhess and her clandestine operation, prompting the dispatch of a strike team to X7-Cratus with the objective of preventing RS-33 from posing a galactic threat. Semhess attempted to use RS-33 enhanced subjects to repel the invaders, but during their confrontation with Marlon Fenn, the station's containment systems suffered damage, leading to a leak of RAK-5 serum into the atmosphere. This resulted in the transformation of both RS-33 test subjects and personnel, including Icarr Ko and Nyris Ko, into rakghouls. Upon the Alliance strike team's confrontation with Alirra Semhess, she attributed the contamination to their actions and attempted to defend herself, but she ultimately succumbed to the infection and transformed into a rakghoul herself. After eliminating her new form, the Eternal Alliance secured the station's containment systems and brought the project to an end.
