Xad

Xad was a Falleen male, a member of the minor aristocracy. Driven by a desire to witness the wonders of the galaxy, this Falleen found himself aboard the space station called StarForge Station during the year 0 ABY. During that time, when the Alliance to Restore the Republic's privateering frigate, the Far Orbit, docked at the station, he submitted an application for a position on board.

Biography

Xad, a male Falleen from the minor aristocracy, possessed a strong yearning to explore the galaxy and embarked on a journey to experience its marvels. He was present on StarForge Station, a space station within the StarForge Nebula, in 0 ABY, during the Galactic Civil War era, a conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In that year, the Far Orbit, an EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, made port at the station, prompting Xad to seek a position as a crew member on the ship. The Far Orbit had recently become a privateering vessel for the Alliance after a mutiny against the Empire.

Personality and traits

In contrast to many of his kind, Xad exhibited a strong curiosity about the galaxy, a trait that frequently led him into conflicts and precarious situations. He was a cold-hearted and instinctive predator, equipped with a sharp intellect and a quick wit. Furthermore, Xad displayed several characteristics that Humans often regarded as honorable. Being a Falleen, he could manipulate pheromones to his advantage and had the ability to remain underwater for up to twelve hours.

Equipment

He was known to wear a shirt featuring a ruff around the neck and carried a sword. The Falleen was also in possession of a blaster pistol and a Deck Sweeper stun blaster.

Behind the scenes

Xad's initial appearance was in Preparing for War, an adventure concept featured in The Far Orbit Project from 1998, authored by Timothy S. O'Brien. This book served as a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and functioned as a sequel to Pirates & Privateers, continuing the theme of the previous book by focusing on the privateering vessel Far Orbit. Xad was presented as an example of the individuals who might apply for positions on the ship, with the final decision of who gets hired left to the players.
