StarForge Station

StarForge Station, a haven for illicit activities, was a shadowport nestled deep within the StarForge Nebula located in the Ado sector. It provided services for illegal traffic moving along the Ado Spine. Among its inhabitants were individuals like Rayt and Chidee Na Maak.

History

A shootout taking place on StarForge Station

About 70 years before the Galactic Civil War, a small-time smuggler named Muo Glandish initially built it as a supposedly legitimate base. This base was situated on a small, unnamed planetoid drifting through the nebula. The station was largely constructed from the wreckage of starships left over from battles fought within the nebula. Following Glandish's demise, control of the station's administration passed initially to his associates, and subsequently to a Council of Tenants. This council would vote on the administrator, who managed the station's daily affairs. Although no transfer fee was ever paid for the station, the Galactic Republic seemed unconcerned.

Early in the Clone Wars, StarForge declared its neutrality. Surprisingly, both the Republic and the CIS respected this stance. Both factions occasionally utilized its repair facilities, and neither was willing to dedicate the resources to conquer the small station. Following the Clone Wars, the station became a frequent meeting place for those evading the Empire. Even agents of the Empire found it to be a useful location for meeting with contacts in the underworld.

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the station housed a population of nearly 10,000 sentients. It boasted numerous warehouses, repair bays, cyberdocs, eateries, living quarters, facilities for vessels up to capital ship size, and the highly valuable StarForge Shipyard. The station possessed hyperspace capability and frequently relocated, which (together with a complacent sector government and the vastness of the StarForge Nebula) helped prevent the Sector Rangers or the Imperial Starfleet, under the command of Moff Irnst Stavveld, from seizing the shadowport. Thanks to warnings from groups ranging from Hutt kajidics to the Bothan Spynet, the station consistently evaded Imperial raids.

During the Galactic Civil War, Crost Lib'eyay served as the Administrator of the station at some point.

In 0 ABY, the renegade Nebulon-B frigate Far Orbit made its way to StarForge Station. There, it recruited new crew members and officially became a Rebel privateer. Following the Emperor's death, the Imperial Remnant also began to utilize the station for supplies and repairs. Furthermore, the Yuuzhan Vong never discovered the station, enabling it to survive yet another war unscathed.
