Xanif was a Twi'lek of the female persuasion. She was employed by Maya Armus, a spa establishment situated on Napdu, which is the moon orbiting Da Soocha. The spa's owner was the Hutt known as Azzim Anjiliac Atirue. Prior to Da Soocha's destruction, which was orchestrated by Darth Azard, Azzim instructed Xanif to send a recording of Azard's hologram transmission to Vedo, Azzim's uncle. Azzim's final instruction to Xanif was that she should flee Napdu if possible.
