The XP-38 sport landspeeder can be described as a landspeeder manufactured by SoroSuub.
The design shared similarities with the X-34 model that preceded it; one could say it strongly resembled a more streamlined iteration of that older vehicle. The power plants utilized were comparable to those found in the Flash speeders used on Naboo.
This more modern and refined landspeeder enjoyed considerable popularity among civilian users, and was frequently employed by Imperial military units as a support vehicle stationed at various planetary garrisons.
The XP-38 debuted not long before the Battle of Yavin, but users quickly discovered that its repulsorlift system presented challenges when navigating uneven ground. Consequently, SoroSuub developed modified variants, such as the XP-38 All-Terrain Roughrider, specifically designed for use in more rugged, rural environments.
Kenner had plans to introduce a significantly different-looking XP-38 landspeeder as part of their The Epic Continues toy series, which ultimately never saw release. This version, envisioned as Luke Skywalker's custom speeder, was reportedly equipped with "upgraded Ion thrusters, improved defense capabilities and auto droid navigation control."
