Yorik-stronha, resembling asteroids, were a type of bioship employed by the Yuuzhan Vong.
Prior to an attacking fleet's arrival, these vessels were dispatched into enemy areas to conduct reconnaissance. Often, they possessed cloaking shadows to assist the invading forces in navigation. Constructed from yorik coral and encased in rocky layers, a yorik-strohna featured a fifty-meter-thick rock covering, except for its primary cooling vane, which was camouflaged as a surface crevice.
Despite their similar exteriors, each yorik-strohna differed due to its organic growth, a characteristic shared by all Yuuzhan Vong ships. Their standard design included a length of approximately 228 meters, a crew of twelve, capacity for twelve passengers, a cargo hold of 142 tons, and sufficient supplies for a two-month voyage.
These ships were armed with ten yaret-kors and a tractor beam powered by a dovin basal. While possessing decent maneuverability, their sublight speed was only moderate, and their darkspace drive equated to a Class 3 hyperdrive, resulting in a slower, more difficult-to-detect return to realspace.
