Z-95mk1 Headhunter

The Z-95mk1 Headhunter, alternatively referred to as the Z-95 Mark I Headhunter or Z-95 S Headhunter, represented the inaugural model within the Z-95 Headhunter line, manufactured by Incom in conjunction with Subpro. This atmospheric fighter boasted a bubble-shaped cockpit, pivoting wings, and a dual-engine configuration situated on its bifurcated tail. Weapon attachment points were integrated into both the wings and the main body of the fighter.

Behind the scenes

Brian Daley, the author responsible for Han Solo at Stars' End, imagined the Z-95s appearing in his work as "a Lucasfilm-created equivalent of the P-38 Lightning."

The depiction of the Mark I Headhunters piloted by Han Solo and the outlaw technicians in the comic strip adaptation of Han Solo at Stars' End, compiled in Classic Star Wars and previously accessible on Hyperspace as a webstrip, diverges significantly (as illustrated on the left) from the subsequent rendering featured in Han Solo and the Corporate Sector Sourcebook (displayed above).
