Zalem, a Zabrak female from Dathomir, was a Dathomirian who hailed from the Outer Rim Territories planet. She held the position of Clan Mother for a Nightsister coven of witches. Following her death at the hands of Jedi Master Quinlan Vos around 50 BBY, Mother Talzin became her replacement.
Within the current Star Wars canon, Zalem's name appeared within the Topps trading cards, specifically the Jedi Temple Archives set. Regarding Star Wars Legends, Zalem made her debut in the Star Wars: Republic comic series, specifically in issue number 23.
