A Wookiee named Zherriak originated on the world of Kashyyyk. They enjoyed a tranquil existence for quite a while, cherishing a strong bond of friendship with their fellow Wookiee Liak, their companion in hunting, to whom they were bound by honor. By approximately 2 ABY, Zherriak met their end during an Imperial raid designed to enslave Wookiees. Following this event, Liak, along with several other Wookiees, successfully subdued the Imperials and pilfered their vessel to flee their imprisonment. Although many of the Wookiee survivors went back to Kashyyyk following the event, Liak, driven by a desire to avenge his fallen friend, instead sought out the Rebel Alliance and volunteered to aid them.
The short story "Do No Harm" by Erin Endom featured Zherriak. The story appeared in Star Wars Adventure Journal, specifically in the tenth edition, released in May of 1996.
