The 1.4 FD P-Tower, often shortened to just P-Tower, represented a stationary, light anti-vehicle weapon system. It was produced by the Atgar SpaceDefense Corporation. Possessing sufficient energy to immobilize an AT-ST, its robust reliability allowed it to operate effectively even under extreme environmental conditions.
This tower operated through a single laser cannon firing from the center of its energy dish. This dish incorporated 16 micropower routers, distributed uniformly along the edge of eight internal power conversion cells. Despite features like a 360-degree firing arc afforded by its rotating base, and an operational temperature range of -73°C to 49°C, its manufacture was characterized by low cost, speed, and simplicity.
The P-Tower saw deployment during both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, appearing on planets like Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor. During the Battle of Hoth, Alliance gunners belonging to the Rebel Alliance utilized them, but they proved unable to pierce the armor of the All Terrain Armored Transports used by the Galactic Empire. Ultimately, this emplacement was removed from active duty.
