Cooker

Cooker, designated as 2242, functioned as a clone sniper within Green Company. This unit was a part of the Galactic Republic's clone trooper forces during the Clone Wars. Around 21 BBY, Geonosian forces seized the planet of Rishi along with its exonium mines. Green Company was then deployed to the world with the mission to safeguard the native inhabitants and reclaim the mines. Following a failed initial attack, Jedi Master Kit Fisto devised a strategy to overcome the Geonosians, instructing Green Company's clone commander to select him the best sharpshooter available.

Cooker was the commander's choice. He positioned himself across from the canyon leading to the mines' entrance. As per Fisto's instructions, Cooker maintained a steady stream of fire aimed at the Jedi's shoulder. Fisto then used his lightsaber to redirect Cooker's blaster bolts into the Geonosians. After all Geonosians within the canyon were killed, the Geonosian troops inside the mines retaliated, attacking Fisto with an LR1K sonic cannon, which knocked him down. In response, Cooker eliminated the cannon with a precise shot. Subsequently, the remaining Republic forces, joined by Rishii warriors, launched their assault on the mines, causing the remaining Geonosians to retreat.

Biography

Designated 2242, this clone trooper served as a clone sniper within the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic. 2242 originated on the planet Kamino, created as a clone derived from the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Jango Fett. During the Clone Wars, the trooper became known as "Cooker" due to his consistent ability to target the power cells of Confederate battle droids, which resulted in the droids' immolation. Approximately around 21 BBY, Geonosian forces assaulted the planet Rishi, seizing control of the exonium mines to acquire the mineral needed for powering their sonic weapons. Cooker's unit, Green Company, was deployed to safeguard the native Rishii and was instructed to hold their position until the arrival of a Jedi General. However, Rishii Chieftain Gwarrk commanded the clone troopers to attack the mines, citing the urgent need for exonium to prepare food as the ground began to freeze.

The clones' offensive was unsuccessful due to the Geonosians' superior positioning. Jedi Master Kit Fisto, who had recently arrived on Rishi, ordered a retreat. Fisto then formulated a strategy to defeat the Geonosians and directed Green Company's clone commander to provide him with their best sharpshooter. The commander selected Cooker for this assignment. After inquiring about Cooker's nickname, Fisto approved of the choice. The Jedi then moved to the mines' entrance, where Cooker, positioned on a nearby ledge, informed Fisto that he couldn't assist him due to a lack of line of sight to the entrenched enemy.

Fisto responded by instructing Cooker to target the Jedi himself, maintaining a continuous fire at his shoulder. Cooker expressed shock and reluctance, but the Jedi explained that he would deflect Cooker's blaster shots with his lightsaber towards the Geonosians, as he was unable to deflect their sonic weaponry. When the Geonosians initiated their attack on the Jedi, Fisto ordered Cooker to commence firing. Cooker obeyed, and through their combined efforts, all enemy troops within the canyon were soon killed by the deflected shots.

Fisto then observed the massive doors of the mines opening, initially hoping for a surrender from the Confederate forces. However, the Geonosians revealed an LR1K sonic cannon and attacked Fisto, knocking him to the ground. At that moment, Cooker contacted Fisto via comlink, instructing the Jedi to remain down. Demonstrating his exceptional sniping skills, Cooker fired a single, precise shot directly into the weapon's barrel, destroying the cannon. The remaining Republic forces and Rishii warriors then launched their assault on the mines, forcing the Geonosians to retreat. Afterwards, Gwarrk acknowledged Fisto's formidable power, to which the Jedi attributed the victory to two key factors: his mental strength and Cooker's invaluable assistance.

Personality and traits

Cooker was recognized as a highly skilled sharpshooter, consistently capable of hitting Separatist droids' power cells; he expressed enjoyment in watching the subsequent combustion of the droids. Kit Fisto acknowledged Cooker's exceptional skills and commended him for them. Cooker demonstrated reluctance to shoot at his general and later saved Fisto's life when the Jedi was targeted by the sonic cannon. Being a Jango Fett clone, Cooker's height was 1.83 meters.

Equipment

As a sniper, Cooker's primary weapon was a DC-15A blaster rifle.
