A contingent of robotic soldiers, specifically battle droids, were tasked with protecting the RA-7 protocol droid known as 4-A7. This particular droid functioned as an intelligence operative, or spy droid, working on behalf of Count Dooku and Commander Asajj Ventress. 4-A7 possessed commanding authority over this droid formation, which was composed of, as a minimum, three B1-series battle droids.
