Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac chef, came across an aged 434 unit which possessed knowledge of a Cavaellin Spice Creams recipe—a kind of cookie originating from the Cavaell system—that Tuggs found remarkably impressive. In 34 ABY, Tuggs incorporated this recipe, along with a reference to the droid, into his initial cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, asserting the recipe was exceptionally delicious.
Within the current Star Wars canon, a 434 unit received a mention in the 2019 cookbook titled Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak. This droid's beginnings are in the Star Wars Legends continuity; there, it was known as the 434-FPC Personal Chef Droid, initially appearing in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology, a 1995 supplement by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
