Cavaellin Spice Creams, also referred to as Cavaellin creams, were spiced cookies constructed as a sandwich. This confection consisted of two brown biscuits that embraced a vibrant filling of fruit and cream. These cookies originated from the Cavaell system.
Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac, once held the position of head chef for Maz Kanata. Kanata operated a tavern within her castle on the planet Takodana. During his early decades in that role, Tuggs' kitchen staff included numerous droids, some of which possessed recipe databases that he consulted. He obtained a recipe for Cavaellin creams from an antiquated 434 unit. In 34 ABY, following centuries and the destruction of the castle, Tuggs included the recipe in his cookbook called The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. His description conveyed his fondness for the cookies' spicy flavor.
The new Star Wars canon was introduced to Cavaellin Spice Creams in the 2019 recipe compilation Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, authored by Marc Sumerak and Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. The out-of-universe components required for the cookies are butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, molasses, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, five-spice powder, and all-purpose flour. For the filling, the ingredients are cream cheese, desert pear syrup or orange extract, powdered sugar, and heavy cream. The Star Wars Legends continuity is where Cavaellin Creams first appeared. They were initially mentioned in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology, a 1995 roleplaying supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game created by West End Games. However, within that continuity, the 2003 massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided portrayed them as a candy instead of a cookie during their initial appearance.
