Akial

A Jawa male named Akial was a member of the Jedi Order, achieving the status of Jedi Knight. This occurred not long before a celebration held on Dorumaa, a moon orbiting the planet Almas, sometime between approximately 21 BBY and 19 BBY. The Almas Academy selected Akial and fellow Jedi Knight Krin D'bis to represent the Academy at this event, showcasing differing viewpoints on the path of a Jedi through their roles as a Jedi Consular and a Jedi Guardian, respectively.

Biography

Akial represented the Almas Academy (pictured).

Sometime between 21 BBY and 19 BBY, Akial, a Jawa male, belonged to the Jedi Order and trained to become a Jedi Consular, a Jedi who specialized in studying the mysteries of the Force. Akial successfully completed his Jedi Trials and was promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight right before a celebration on the moon of Dorumaa.

During this period, Akial and Krin D'bis, a Kel Dor Jedi Guardian, were chosen to attend the celebration organized by the Metatheran Cartel as official representatives of the Jedi academy on Almas, the planet that orbited Dorumaa. The Academy selected Akial and D'bis for this mission because of their differing viewpoints, aiming to present the Jedi as diverse at the event. They journeyed from Almas to the Greentree Pointe resort on Dorumaa, the location of the celebration. There, the two Jedi established a booth to attract potential students to the Academy.

While present at the celebration, Akial and D'bis engaged in lively debates with booth visitors on subjects such as the Cartel and the danger posed by the Sith cult known as the Believers.

Personality and traits

Akial believed the Believers (pictured) should be investigated.

Being a Consular and a Guardian, Akial and D'bis embodied different paths within the Jedi Order, showcasing varied approaches to problem-solving and demonstrating the Jedi's diversity. Akial concurred with D'bis that the Believers presented a significant issue; however, while D'bis advocated for a more forceful solution, Akial believed that investigating the cult to ascertain their capabilities and identities would be preferable. He also held a different view from D'bis regarding the Metatheran Cartel, suggesting that if the Cartel were to reestablish its diplomatic standing within the Cularin system and prove its trustworthiness, its past wrongdoings should be forgiven. The Jawa showed his displeasure when people used the common Jawaese word "Utinni" when addressing him, causing him to wrinkle his face.

Skills and abilities

The Jawa's spoken Basic was impeccable and without any accent.

Behind the scenes

Akial made an appearance in the "Paarty On!" adventure, part of the Living Force roleplaying campaign. This adventure was released in 2003 and authored by Morrie Mullins. In "Paarty On!", the term "Jedi Counselor" is mistakenly used to refer to Akial's role as a Jedi Consular.
